The life of Joe Grissom

We are sad to report Joe Grissom passed away earlier this week. He was always involved with PtHA in numerous ways from serving as President to a previous Chief Operating Officer for the association. PtHA will be holding a memorial service for Joe on June 10, 2024 the first day of the 2024 Pinto World Championship at 3 pm in the Exhibit Hall. We would like to put together a collection of memories of Joe in the meantime. If you have any stories or pictures you would like to share with us please share by email to Miranda Hassler at Mhassler@pinto.org. Memorial contributions may be made on Joe’s behalf to Joe Grissom Pinto Youth Scholarship through the Pinto Heritage Foundation. https://www.dayandgenda.com/obituaries/joe-grissom

REGISTER YOUR LONG EAR

The Long Ear Division is provided to record the bloodlines of mules and donkeys. This division includes colored and solid mules and donkeys.

CLASSIFICATIONS

The two Long Ear classifications include Mule/Hinny and Donkey.

Long Ear Type

Mule - A hybrid equine resulting from the breeding of a male donkey to a female horse. Mules come in all shapes, sizes and colors depending on the breeding of their horse dam. Mules are versatile animals, taking characteristics from both the donkey and horse.

Donkey - Descended from the African Wild Ass, today’s domesticated donkeys have moved beyond being simple pack animals. Donkeys come in a variety of sizes and are just as versatile as horses and mules, able to be ridden, driven and exhibited in-hand.
